Yes. We soak every bed and shrub before we start, keep them wet the whole job, then rinse them down again at the end. Our mix only causes trouble if it dries on foliage, so we make sure it never gets the chance to.
No. We soft wash at low pressure, so the cleaning solution does the work instead of brute force. Nothing gets blasted into your siding, behind it, or through the seals the way a high-pressure wand can do.
Keep them inside during the wash and for an hour or two while it dries. The strongest thing in our mix is sodium hypochlorite. Once it’s diluted and finishes its job, it breaks down into salt and water, so nothing harsh sits on your yard.
We carry a buffer tank to keep our high-output machines steady, but we top it off from your outside spigot, so all we need is access to a working faucet. There’s no special hookup, and we leave it the way we found it.
Not fast. We kill the algae and mildew at the root instead of rinsing the green off the top, so it stays clean a good while. Spores still ride in on the air, so a wash on a steady rhythm keeps it from building back up.

Yes, and it's the right call for it. A lot of Lexington homes are newer, with vinyl and builder-grade brick that high pressure can crack or streak fast. Soft washing uses low pressure plus a cleaning solution, so the finish and the seals stay intact.
Lake Murray humidity settles on the shaded, north-facing, and water-facing walls, and those spots grow algae and mildew first. We work them a little harder in the wash and keep an eye on them so the whole house comes back even.
Plan on about every about every year-and-a-half to two years for most Lexington homes. If your place sits on the shaded, lake-facing side off Old Cherokee or Corley Mill, the north walls green up sooner and like it a touch more often.
If it's algae or mildew, yes. The soft wash kills and removes it. If you're seeing rust or red-clay staining near spigots or downspouts, that's iron rather than growth, and it takes a separate treatment; we'll point it out and tell you what'll actually lift.

House Washing in Lexington, Lake Murray country
Living near Lake Murray looks great until you spot the green creeping up the shady side of the house. All that lake humidity sits on north-facing walls and builder-grade vinyl, and it doesn't take long before the siding looks dingy and streaked. A pressure washer is the wrong tool for that. Too much force for newer vinyl and seals. So we soft wash instead: a cleaning solution breaks the algae and mildew down, a gentle rinse carries it off, and the siding looks new again without anything getting blasted or pushed in behind it.
Lexington sits on the south shore of Lake Murray, and all that lake humidity is hard on exteriors. North-facing siding, shaded roofs, and pool decks green up fast from the dam down through the neighborhoods off Old Cherokee and Corley Mill. It's also one of the fastest-growing towns in the state, so there's a lot of newer vinyl and builder-grade brick that does best with a gentle soft wash rather than high pressure.

Our process, step by step
Here's exactly what a soft wash looks like at your place around Lake Murray, start to finish, and we walk it with you first.
Before any water comes out, we look over the siding, find the shaded and lake-facing walls where the algae's worst, and check anything fragile. Light fixtures, outlets, older caulking. On Lexington's newer builds the seals are usually solid, but we'd rather know up front than find out halfway through.
Every bed and shrub around the house gets a heavy drink and stays wet the whole time. Our cleaning solution is hard on foliage if it dries on it, so this isn't an optional step. It's how your landscaping comes through the job untouched.
We put the solution on at low pressure, bottom to top so it clings, and give it time to actually kill the algae and mildew down in the pores, not just rinse the green off the top. That dwell time is the difference between rinsing the surface and truly killing the growth, so it comes back slower.
Then a gentle rinse from the roofline down, a second look at the eaves and soffits, and a final rinse of your plants. We don't pack up until the siding's even and your beds are clear.
