No surprises, straight answers

The questions Newberry homeowners
actually ask

They shouldn't, because there's nothing harsh in this job. It's hands, a scoop, and plain water. We place ladder feet with care around plantings, and every handful of debris goes into a bag instead of over the side into your beds.

No. This is patient hand work, and old runs get treated like old runs. We've cleaned plenty of aged gutters along Harrington Street, so we know the hangers and seams on older homes can be tender. If something up there is loose or soft, we leave it be and tell you about it rather than forcing it.

Keep them inside while ladders are up, mostly so nobody gets underfoot. Nothing we use out there is chemical, just plain water and a scoop, so the yard is fine the minute we're done. We close gates behind us, and if we need into the backyard we'll knock first.

Usually, yes. Vertical streaking below the gutter line is where water has been going over the edge instead of down the spout. It's the earliest warning of a blocked line, and worth acting on, because that board is painted wood on most of the older places in town. Get the line draining again and the board finally gets a chance to dry out.

No, and we'll tell you that straight. Those stripes are oxidation bonded to the painted face, and a cleaning is inside work, so scooping and flushing won't touch them. Brightening the outside face is its own separate service, and we're glad to quote it while the ladder is already up.

Yes, both. This whole job happens at the roof edge, on a ladder, hour after hour, house after house. That's exactly the kind of work insurance exists for, and ours covers the crew and your property alike, every hour we're up there.

How booking works

Quick to book, priced after we've seen it

Gutter jobs range from a light clear-out to a packed mess, so we don't price them blind. Here's how it goes.

1

Call or send the short form. Let us know how tall the house is, what trees hang over it, and where you've noticed water spilling or streaking.

2

Gutter slots fill fastest right as the canopy lets go. Get on the calendar before the leaves come down and your system is clear when it matters most.

3

Photos can't show a packed elbow. A tech gets on the ladder and checks your troughs, downspouts, and problem corners in person before any price gets talked about.

4

The quote is free, given face to face, with no trip fee to come look. Like the number and we'll get your cleaning scheduled. Don't, and you've lost nothing.

Questions, answered

Newberry questions, answered

Gutters run on their own clock, not the house-wash calendar. The big one is a clearing after the fall leaf drop. Under the mature hardwood canopy over the older streets, troughs load up every time the leaves and seed litter come down, and shaded runs may want another look after spring. An open lot with nothing overhead can stretch things out longer.

The clog is almost certainly below the trough, down in the downspout elbow. That's the tightest bend in the line, so wet leaves and shingle grit wedge there first. Water backs up behind the plug and spills over a run that looks perfectly clean from above. Opening and flushing every elbow is a standard part of our cleaning for exactly this reason.

No, and we tell you that up front. Those streaks are oxidation bonded into the painted face of the gutter, so no amount of scooping or flushing touches them. Brightening the outside face is a separate service with its own treatment, and we're glad to quote both together while we're out there.

Given enough storms, yes. Overflow runs across the fascia and down the trim, and on the older homes around here that's painted wood that softens when it stays wet. You may also spot red clay splashed up along the foundation after hard rain, which is roof water hitting bare ground instead of draining away, and that clay staining may not budge with a simple rinse. Keeping the line clear is the cheap end of that whole problem.

No. As long as we can reach the gutters and use an outside spigot, we can do the whole job while you're out. You'll come home to bagged debris and a draining system. If you'd rather be there, we're happy to show you what came out of the line.

Yes, all of it. We take on homes along Harrington Street, the streets out by Lynch's Woods, and everything between and around them. If you're outside town a ways, ask anyway. We'll tell you straight whether you're in our range.

First time using a company to clean the exterior of our home, because I’m very particular. We could not be more pleased. The cleaning of paint trim, gutters and windows exceeded expectations. The two young men performing the work were exceptionally polite and hard working. We’ll schedule their service again.

The 3 technicians who pressure washed our home today exceeded our expectations, demonstrating dependability and trustworthiness. Most of our interaction was with Connor who was outstanding but Riley and the other young man were impressive too. We also would like to mention that we were impressed with Jaden as he was our initial point of contact and made the sale to us. Keep up the excellent work!

Gutter Cleaning in Newberry, the City of Friendly Folks

Why Newberry homeowners call us

A clogged gutter doesn't look like much. The trough fills, nothing happens for a while, and it's easy to forget it's up there. Then a hard rain arrives, the water has nowhere to go, and it pours over the lip and down the fascia instead. On the older homes around here that fascia is real wood, and so is the trim below it. Wood that stays wet goes soft, and paint that stays wet lets go. A cleaning now is cheap. A carpenter later is not.

Newberry is an old inland mill town on the rolling red-clay hills of the lower Piedmont, about forty-five minutes up I-26 from Columbia. The housing tells its story: wood-sided mill houses in the West End, Mollohon, and Oakland villages, Victorian and Queen Anne homes along Main Street and College Street, and brick ranches from the decades after the war. There is no lake or river in town; what ages these exteriors is shade, humidity, and time. Mature trees hang over the older streets, north-facing walls stay damp into the afternoon, and painted wood and soft old brick hold that moisture longer than modern siding does. Around Newberry College and the Opera House, downtown blocks mix storefront masonry with some of the oldest painted exteriors in the county.

We bring our gutter cleaning to Main Street, Harrington Street, and Oakland and the rest of Newberry, with the same crew and the same care.

While we're at your Newberry place, we can knock out your house washing, roof cleaning, and brick cleaning too, all on the same trip with no second trip fee.

Our process, step by step

What the visit looks like

It's a simple job done thoroughly. Here's the order we work in.

We walk the house before a ladder touches it. Heavy canopy corners, shaded runs, and any fascia streaking get noted, and on the Lynch's Woods side of town, where the trees press right up on the yards, we expect the troughs to be loaded.

Matted oak leaves, seed litter, and shingle grit come out by the handful and go straight into a bag. Old metal gets a gentle touch. We don't pry at seams or hang weight on the runs, and if a hanger feels loose we flag it for you.

This is the step a quick job skips. The elbow is where debris wedges tightest, so we clear each one and flush the downspout behind it until water pours out clean at the ground.

Water goes through the whole system while we watch each outlet. If a line drains slow, we keep at it. When we pack up, you're not guessing whether it worked. You watched it drain.
