It is, and here's why. Fully cured old concrete is hard stuff, and the cleaning head glides over it spreading the water wide instead of parking a narrow jet in one place. Where an edge is already flaking, we back the power off or work around it, and we'll show you those spots before we start.
Because it stays damp. Under a mature canopy, a north-facing stretch of concrete can hold moisture well into the day, and damp shade is exactly where algae takes hold. Cleaning it works, and the pre-treat and post-treat slow the regrowth, but a walk that deep in shade will want attention sooner than one baking in full sun. We'd rather you know that going in.
They'll be fine with the care we take. Plain water goes into the beds before any treatment comes out, and the mix stays on the flatwork, not in your beds. Before we pack up, everything green gets rinsed once more.
Give him the morning indoors. The treatments aren't something a pet should walk through or lap out of a puddle, so we rinse the flatwork and its edges down well before we leave. Once it's dry, let him out like nothing happened.
We'll be straight with you: mostly no. Oil soaks down into the slab, so even a degreasing treatment only lightens a recent drip, and a mark that's been there a while may hardly change. Oil is its own specialty visit, and we keep expectations low on it even then.

Not with a wash alone, and we tell you that up front. Red clay stains the concrete itself, so it takes a separate specialty treatment, and even that may not pull all the color out. What a wash will do is clear the growth and surface grime around it, which improves the look on its own.
Walks, steps, aprons, and slabs are exactly what this service is for. We'll clean a single front walk if that's all you need, but most folks bundle every piece of flatwork on the property into one visit since we're already set up.
Usually, yes. Wand stripes are uneven cleaning, and a full pre-treat, surface-clean, and post-treat pass typically blends the slab back to one tone. The exception is where the wand actually cut into the surface. That mark is in the concrete, and we'll show you before we start rather than promise it away.
Not much. Move cars and planters off the concrete you want cleaned, keep pets inside while we work, and make sure an outside spigot works. We handle the rest, including rinsing down the edges before we leave.

There are two kinds of dirty concrete, and they clean two different ways. The first kind is alive: algae and mildew, the green film that creeps across a shaded walk. How the clean actually goes
An old mill-village walk in Oakland and a newer slab at the edge of town get the same four steps. What changes is how we dial in the pressure for each.
We walk the flatwork before any water moves. Flaking edges, hairline cracks, and stains that need their own treatment all get pointed out, so what you expect matches what you get.
An industrial-grade pre-treatment soaks the slab and kills the growth at its root. We give it time to work, and the wash then pulls dead growth out instead of smearing live growth around.
The big machines drive the surface cleaner across each slab in slow, even laps. The head spreads the force wide, which is how older cured concrete gets a deep clean without any single spot getting hammered.
A finishing treatment evens the tone as the slab dries, then we rinse the concrete and everything alongside it. You're left with one uniform color from the street to the back steps, and the green takes its time coming back.
