A little will, and that's normal. We do everything we can to keep it out, controlling where the solution lands and rinsing the deck away from the pool rather than toward it, but some fine dirt and a bit of our mix almost always finds the water. It's not a big deal. Our solution is basically a strong chlorine, the same family as the chlorine already in your pool, so it won't wreck the water. After we clean, you may just want your pool tech to rinse the fine dirt out of the filter and rebalance the pH.
It could, which is exactly why we don't use it on these. A cool-deck coating, knock-down texture, or colored border all get torn up by a hard pass. We let the cleaning solution do the killing and lift it with a soft wash or careful low pressure, so the texture and color stay right where they are.
No. We pre-treat the whole slab, let it dwell, and lift it even at low pressure, so it dries one consistent tone instead of clean-patch-next-to-dirty-patch. On a coated or stamped border we keep it lighter still, so the finish reads uniform edge to edge without any pressure marks.
Yes. The landscaping that rings a pool deck gets soaked and stays wet through the whole job, then rinsed again at the end. The cleaning solution only causes trouble if it's left to dry on foliage, and tight against the water like that, we don't let it.
Once it's rinsed and dried, yes. We rinse the deck and everything around it thoroughly so nothing's left sitting on the surface, just give the concrete time to dry like you would after a summer rain before everyone's back out there.
Those aren't algae. Calcium scale at the waterline and rust off deck anchors or rails are mineral and iron, separate treatments from the green, and ones that tend to lighten more than vanish. It would if we hit it with high pressure. That pits textured concrete and strips a cool-deck coating or color right off. We don't work that way. A cleaning solution kills the algae first, then a soft wash or gentle low pressure tuned to your deck lifts it, so the finish stays put and the deck just comes back clean and even.
It's algae. That splash zone by the steps stays wet all season, so the slick film builds there first. Near the lake your deck barely gets to dry out, and that constant moisture grows a slick organic film right where you climb out of the water. We kill it with a cleaning solution and clear it off the texture, so the grip comes back along with the clean look.
We won't bleach your coping. We tarp and pre-wet the coping, the waterline tile, and the beds before we start and rinse as we go, so the solution never dries on the stone or the plants, which is the only way it causes trouble. As for the pool itself, we do everything we can to keep our mix out, but a little fine dirt and solution usually finds the water. It's minor. Our mix is basically a strong chlorine like the pool already uses, so it won't hurt the water. You may just want your pool tech to clear the fine dirt from the filter and rebalance the pH after.
That's calcium scale, a mineral deposit from the water, not algae, so the wash that handles the green won't lift it. It's a separate treatment, and even then it tends to lighten more than disappear, especially where it's built up over seasons. We'll look and tell you honestly what'll come up before we promise anything.

Down on the south shore of Lake Murray, a pool deck never really gets to dry out. Splash-out keeps the slab damp all season, the lake humidity hangs in the air, and the shaded stretch by the coping greens up first, right where you swing your feet out of the water and stand up. Most of the newer decks out here are textured or coated concrete: cool-deck finishes, knock-down texture, colored or stamped borders. That surface is exactly what high pressure ruins, pitting the texture and stripping the color clean off. So we don't muscle it. A cleaning solution kills the algae and organic film down in the pores, then a soft wash or careful low pressure lifts it off without grinding the finish. The whole time we're minding the coping, the waterline tile, and the beds, rinsing as we go so nothing around the water gets bleached. We do everything we can to keep it out of the pool, and we'll be straight with you: a little fine dirt and a bit of our mix usually finds the water anyway. It's no big deal, because our solution is basically a strong chlorine like what's already in there. Our process, step by step
Here's the whole run on a textured deck by the lake. Gentle enough to spare the cool-deck finish, careful enough that nothing around the water gets bleached, and straight with you about the little bit of dirt and mix that finds the pool anyway.
First we look at what the deck is, cool-deck coating, knock-down texture, stamped or colored border, and how new it is, since a young slab and a coated finish both want a soft touch. Then we cover and pre-wet the coping, the waterline tile, and the beds. That stuff sits inches from where our solution lands, and a careful tarp-and-soak is how it all comes through untouched.
A cleaning solution goes down across the deck and gets real time to soak into the pores, so the algae and the slick film are actually killed, not just wetted. Letting it dwell is what does the cleaning here. It's why we never need the high pressure that would pit a textured deck or chew the coating off it.
A soft wash or careful low pressure, dialed to your deck's texture, brings the slab up one even tone with no pitting and no patchy spots. We pay extra attention to the band right at the coping where you step out wet. That's where the algae's thickest and where slick concrete actually matters.
A full rinse carries the residue off the deck and away from the water, not into it. We hand-detail the coping line, the steps, and the corners, rinse the beds down again, and if a calcium line or rust spot won't lift without a separate treatment, we tell you that straight instead of forcing it.
